Weezer
I imagine this is old now, but this made my night. There were two videos I didn't recognize; I need to get out more.
Serenity for Charity
Apparently there is a charity group that is raising money by showing Serenity in theaters again. It's almost too ludricrous for words, in such a wonderful way.
The O.C. (don't call it that) showing is June 21st @ 21:00; anyone else in?
Gao se!
In all reality, I am blessed beyond any quantifiable measure. However, I must lament two things:
- I have yet to enjoy PAA:OTRPOD; making it a shared experience means waiting. (Minor, admittedly; but seeing such good reviews makes it sting).
- I completely avoided HD-DVD, even managing to hold out long enough for it to die! (I'll probably pick up a player now; I'm seeing $20 deals.) Thus far, I have done the same with Blu-Ray; the cost is still far from what I've been willing to deal with. But now I have to find out that they're rereleasing Firefly to it? With new content?! Criminal.
Yes, I'm well aware that I can simply avoid these examples of shallow consumerism. But it's still better than heroin.
On being a father again…
Two things I had forgotten:
- How much grunting babies do.
- How much gas they have.
It amuses me. That is all.
On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness
The first "episode" of Penny-Arcade's game is finally coming out on the 21st!
They claim that they'd rate it at about a 8 out of 10, but everything I see of it looks great. I can't wait.
P.S. Mac, Xbox 360, & Linux versions too. No excuses.
Ma'am, this would eat the rat people.
Sorry for the lack of updates lately; being the father of a newborn would be challenging enough, but I was also thrown the curveball of getting sick as well. I can't complain though: even being sick, I can't help but feel I'm living some sort of wonderful dream life that I'm gonna wake up from at any moment.
In any case, I'm finally getting better now. Just in time to go back to work!
In other news, I've shown up late to yet another party: the RSS one. I mean, I've been familar with it forever; it's (obviously) even offered through the subscribe button on this blog. But I've never really taken advantage of how much time it could be saving me. I think I was put off before by the idea of browsing being tied to a single program on one computer.
Lifehacker did a good comparison of some of the best RSS clients, and what really struck my fancy is Google's Reader. With it, I've subscribed to the sites I check daily (currently about 17), and it notifies me of new content on them and keeps track of what I've read. The amount of time it's saving me is extraordinary, but the best part is probably that it's web-based, so I can use it no matter what computer/OS I'm using.
Between it and managing my bookmarks through del.icio.us, I'm finally no longer tied to any specific machine/OS, and it feels embarrassingly liberating.
From Half-Life to Home-Life
Day 2 with baby at home. Elijah is running around yelling, which is a good sign.
He was also very entertained by my new collection of Mii's.
Speaking of exciting, first PA game has gone gold!
